Before your consultation
What to prepare before your medical video consultation
Organize your medical history, check your connection and prepare your questions before a teleconsultation in Chile.
Organize your concerns
Write down what is worrying you, when it started and how it has changed. Prepare the questions you want to discuss. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis of your own.
Check your appointment against Chile local time and confirm the consultation language. AL Clínica medical consultations are in Spanish or English.
Keep your history within reach
Prepare a list of your medications, including their names and doses, and any known allergies. Have relevant test results or reports available if you have them.
Do not change or stop medications simply to prepare for the appointment. Share documents using the channel agreed for your care, avoiding public links.
Check your space and connection
Choose a private, well-lit, quiet place. Test your camera, microphone and internet connection. Charge your phone or computer and keep a charger nearby.
Let the doctor know if someone is accompanying you. If the connection drops, use your booking contact to agree on how to continue.
Leave time for final questions
Have somewhere to note recommendations. Before finishing, ask how you will receive any relevant documents and how to arrange follow-up if needed.
Video consultations have limits. Follow advice to seek an in-person assessment when needed; do not wait for a teleconsultation in an emergency.
